BEES
Bees are insects because they have four wings and six legs. Bees are also invertebrates because they don't have a back bone. The scientific name for a honey bee is Apis.
Habitat
Bees live in hives near flowers so they can collect more nectar. There are 60,000-80,000 bees in a hive in summer, and 20,000-30,000 in winter! The temperature in a hive is 36-37c.
Description
Bees have a stinger on their rear end and they use it when they are disturbed or angry. Bees cant fly in rain because they can't fly when their wings are wet. A bees tongue is called a proboscis, it is used to suck nectar from the flowers. Bees have two antenna that helps them know where they are bees are striped yellow and black to warn predators they are poisonous!
Dynamics
Bees don't sleep but they do get tired. Bees don't speak they do the waggle dance to communicate. One bee produces 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey in its life time. They can only fly five miles away from there hive.
Bees are endangered. People NEED to plant more flowers so bees can make more honey and appreciate what is given.
